Customer Support > Support Database: TealMeal CompatibilityTroubleshootingUsage
Compatibility
Will TealMeal run under PalmOS 5? (100%) Yes. TealMeal is fully compatible with PalmOS 5 and handhelds running ARM processors like the Tungsten T.
Thanks, that helped!
Will I be able to get TealMeal utilities available for the Macintosh? (100%) Yes. The TealMeal Mac Pack is available on our Software page. It's not pretty, but it'll do the job. This will happen if you have installed mangled database with an entry that does not have any valid food types selected, thus rendering it invisible. TealMeal will not let you create such an entry in the program, but it is possible to make one with the utility TXT2MEAL. The utility will warn you if you make such an entry, but if you ignore it, you can get the behavior described above. To fix it, use MEAL2TXT to export the database and repair the text file before converting it back with TXT2MEAL.
Thanks, that helped! Troubleshooting
When I try to install a database from my Macintosh, I get a HotSync error or crash during HotSync. (100%) Please check the Palm site for an update of your HotSync software. Early versions of Mac HotSync were buggy loading third-party database files. Also, if you used Mac UnZippit on the Mac to unzip the files, try Unstuffit Deluxe. UnZippit has a tendency to mangle Palm database files during the unzipping process.
Thanks, that helped!
When I manually sort the records in a particular database, the database gets scrambled or crashes. (100%) This occurs when the database contains an invalid hidden entry, usually because it was created using TXT2MEAL and contains an entry with no valid FOODTYPE keywords. TXT2MEAL displays a warning when it detects this condition, but if the warning is ignored, the resulting database will crash when sorted if not corrected. You can correct the entry by converting to a text file using MEAL2TXT and back agaiin to TXT2MEAL after removing the entry with no food categories.
Thanks, that helped! Usage
How can I convert restaurant data to/from my desktop computer? (100%) Two utility programs, TXT2MEAL and MEAL2TXT, come with TealMeal and can be used to create or modify TealMeal databases by converting them to and from text files. Instructions on using these programs are in the TealMeal doc file.
Thanks, that helped!
